Men are expected to stay loyal even when they are miserable.
Women are encouraged to leave the moment they feel uncomfortable.

A man who stays is told to “man up.”
A woman who stays is told she’s “settling.”

When a man leaves, he’s selfish, wasted her time, immature, or “was never serious.”
When a woman leaves, she’s brave, empowered, and “choosing herself.”

Men are shamed for their unhappiness.
Women are validated by it.

Commitment is a duty for men but optional for women.

Marriage frees a woman and binds a man.

Before marriage, a woman lives under rules.
Parents. Society. Reputation. Timing.

Marriage removes the leash.

Now she’s “settled.”
Protected. Excused. Prioritized.
Her past is forgiven.
Her emotions are validated.
Her wants become needs.

She gains leverage.

A man experiences the opposite.

Before marriage, his time is his own.
His money is his tool.
His risk is optional.
His obligations are limited.

Marriage flips the script.

Now his freedom is conditional.
His money is shared.
His time is negotiated.
His decisions are scrutinized.

He becomes accountable for outcomes he doesn’t fully control.

If the marriage succeeds, it’s expected.
If it fails, he pays.

Commitment increases a woman’s security.
Commitment increases a man’s liability.

That’s why women push for marriage.
And men hesitate.

Understand the deal before you sign it.
