BREAKING: MORE ILLEGAL SETTLEMENTS IN THE WEST BANK. Israel has approved the largest land seizure in the occupied West Bank in over three decades, according to Peace Now. Authorities recently appropriated 12.7 square kilometers of land in the Jordan Valley, the largest since the 1993 Oslo accords. This follows the seizure of 8 square kilometers in March and 2.6 square kilometers in February, marking 2024 as a peak year for land appropriation. The Palestinians see settlement expansion as a major barrier to peace, while most of the international community views these settlements as illegal. Israel regards the West Bank as a significant historical and religious area and opposes Palestinian statehood.
