AL AQSA MOSQUE SUMMARY

Ben Gvir wants to build synagogue at Al-Aqsa

Israeli National Security Minister and fanatic settler Itamar Ben Gvir said during an interview on Israeli Army Radio that the recent change in Temple Mount (What Israelis call Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound) policy now allows for Jewish prayer. “I would establish a synagogue there,” he reportedly said.

This sparked the anger of both his own coalition allies as well as the Israeli opposition.

Following the inflammatory statements, Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced that “There is no change at the Temple Mount status quo.”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant called the remarks “dangerous, unnecessary and irresponsible.”

This comes after Ben Gvir’s most recent provocative incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque, which drew the ire of the Palestinian resistance and people.

In a statement, Hamas condemned these remarks and called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to stand up to its responsibilities. The movement also called on its people in the West Bank and 1948 territories to mobilize and rally at Al-Aqsa.
