Armed settler groups, backed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), have entered Jabal Al-Ras in Umm Safa, north of Ramallah, in an attempt to seize the land. Villagers protested, calling for the settlers' removal, after they previously brought equipment to destroy agricultural lands for a new settlement.

The IOF responded by dispersing the anti-settlement protest with tear gas and storming the village.
