Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital:
➤The situation in northern Gaza has deteriorated significantly since yesterday. The bombing has not stopped throughout the night, with more than seven drones loaded with explosives deployed around Kamal Adwan Hospital, leading to the destruction of entire buildings and the leveling of residential blocks.
➤Debris and explosions directly hit the hospital, shattering doors and windows and instilling fear in the patients inside. Kamal Adwan Hospital is currently treating more than 120 injured individuals.
➤Despite some repairs being made to the hospital, the continuous bombardment has rendered our efforts futile.
➤We are in urgent need of restoring oxygen systems, water, electricity, and storage facilities. This horrific cycle of destruction and repair has become a daily routine, as our facilities face relentless attacks.
➤The Abu Tarabeesh family home, located in a nearby residential area, was targeted. More than thirty people lived there. Sadly, no one from the family has been brought to Kamal Adwan Hospital, indicating that the entire family was likely martyred under the rubble.
➤We received distress calls from neighbors and individuals trapped under the debris, but we are unable to leave the hospital due to the ongoing danger. The bombing occurred throughout the night, and we lack the tools and ambulances needed to rescue any potential survivors.
➤At dawn, neighbors began searching for survivors, but tragically, they discovered that everyone had perished in the attack.
➤The current situation is catastrophic. Medical supplies are being blocked from entering northern Gaza, and we are facing a severe shortage. We lack even the basic tools needed for plumbing, water, and electricity. We have attempted to bring in supplies via ambulances that regularly evacuate patients, but so far, we have not received permission to do so.
➤The danger is escalating. We are witnessing heavy loss of life, with many martyrs in the targeted areas.
➤We urgently call on the international community to intervene and stop the ongoing bloodshed against the remaining citizens in northern Gaza, as well as the systematic attacks on the healthcare system, which is being targeted day and night. Our facilities and staff are under constant threat, and immediate action is needed to protect them.
