️BREAKING: Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza:
➤ Last night was one of the most difficult nights we have faced. Once again, remote-controlled robots equipped with explosives targeted the area near Kamal Adwan Hospital, causing great fear among patients and shattering doors and windows.
➤ The explosions were alarmingly close to the hospital, destroying most of the water tanks on the hospital’s roof and scattering iron shrapnel with a radius of about two meters.
➤ Following the martyrdom of Dr. Saeed and nurse Kareem Jaradat, we endured overnight drone attacks. Three members of our medical team were injured, including Dr. Nihad, who was injured for the third time while working in the emergency and reception department of the hospital.
➤ Artillery shelling and airstrikes continued relentlessly throughout the night. A nearby house on the border of Kamal Adwan Hospital was bombed. Fortunately, no one was inside, but the house was almost completely destroyed.
➤ Additional homes in our area were also bombed, but I currently lack detailed information about them as most updates arrive in the morning. If there were any injuries or casualties among residents of these homes, we will be informed by morning.
➤ So far, the intense bombardment continues throughout the night, accompanied by the ongoing destruction of buildings.
➤ It is a catastrophic scene, with airstrikes and artillery shelling occurring with unprecedented intensity and severity.
➤ Currently, there are about 72 injured patients in Kamal Adwan Hospital. We have been assured that the World Health Organization’s aid convoy will return today or tomorrow. Additionally, we have been promised the entry of fuel and the return of the Indonesian delegation that was evacuated, along with some essential supplies.
➤ However, our demands remain clear: we call for international protection for the hospital and its staff, as well as the entry of specialized surgical teams, medical supplies, and essential medications to ensure we can continue serving the people we treat.
