⚡️BREAKING: Hamas Clarifies Gaza Management Arrangements

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem, in statements broadcast by Al-Aqsa TV:

We agreed to form a community support committee in Gaza that does not include Hamas.

We do not want to be part of the administrative arrangements in Gaza as long as they are achieved through national consensus.

We will not be an obstacle to any arrangements in Gaza as long as they have national consensus.

We are capable of reaching a Palestinian consensus approach with Arab support.

Translation:

Hamas is perfectly happy to delegate civic duties and governance to other parties, as long as this is democratically decided by Palestinians and not for Palestininans by others. What they are not willing to do, however, is give up their arms. Israel and the West have proven to be unreliable, even treacherous, diplomatic partners, so therefore armed resistance is the only way forward. Israel demands the disarmament and disbandment of Hamas, which is simply unacceptable because it would mean the complete annihilation of all Palestinians.

Abu Obaida to the Arab leaders on the 7th of July 2024:

“Their impotence has become greater, their reluctance and letting down have become more severe and bitter. expelling an ambassador and severing relations with an enemy that exterminates an arab muslim people has become a dream for a great nation that ruled the earth’s nations for centuries.”

Vandaag komen de arabische leiders bij elkaar om te praten over Gaza. Tot nu toe is het altijd slappe hap geweest.

⚡️BREAKING: Press Statement Issued by Hamas regarding the Arab Summit:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomes the convening of the extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo to address the dangers facing the Palestinian cause amid ongoing Zionist aggression and the genocide and displacement plans targeting our people in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

The Arab Summit marks an advanced stage of Arab and Islamic alignment with the just Palestinian cause.

We appreciate the speeches of leaders at the extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo, which unanimously rejected the occupation’s plans to displace our people, opposed annexation and resettlement projects, and affirmed support for our legitimate rights to freedom and self-determination.

We value the Arab stance against attempts to displace our people or erase their national cause under any pretext, considering it an honorable position and a historic message that the Palestinian Nakba will not be repeated. With unified Arab support, our people can thwart these conspiracies.

We welcome the Gaza reconstruction plan adopted by the Arab Summit in its final statement and call for all necessary measures to ensure its success. We also appreciate Egypt’s efforts in preparing for an international conference on Gaza reconstruction.

We have repeatedly affirmed our support for what benefits our Palestinian people by removing the impacts of aggression and genocide targeting our land and people. We supported the decision to form the Community Support Committee to follow up on relief, reconstruction, and Gaza management as an integral part of the Palestinian state.

The Summit’s call to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement as signed provides political backing to the Palestinian people and pressures the occupation to honor the agreement.

We stress the need to hold the criminal enemy accountable to its commitments under the ceasefire agreement. We call for unified and practical Arab steps to enforce the agreement, facilitate aid and shelter, and proceed with the second phase of negotiations.

The Summit’s call for a political and commercial boycott of the occupation represents a highly effective strategic path, further isolating the entity and forcing it to comply with international and humanitarian law.

Amid the escalating Zionist campaign to target and Judaize Al-Aqsa Mosque and the increasing settler incursions and Talmudic rituals in its courtyards, we urge Arab leaders to take decisive action against these violations. Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first Qibla of Muslims, is a red line, and any harm to it angers all Muslims worldwide.

We welcome the Arab Summit’s emphasis on building Palestinian national institutions that reflect our people’s aspirations for freedom and independence through legislative and presidential elections as soon as possible.

We call on our Arab nations to continue supporting the steadfastness of our Palestinian people against the criminal enemy and to counter its expansionist ambitions and domination plans over Palestine and the entire region.

We remain loyal to our national cause and our people’s rights until the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, by the will of Allah.

⚡️JUST IN: Press Statement from Gaza’s Government Media Office:

➤ The Israeli occupation forces continue to close the crossings for the third consecutive day, preventing the entry of food, medical supplies, and other aid. This constitutes a new war crime that exacerbates the humanitarian disaster faced by 2.4 million people in the Gaza Strip.

➤ We warn of the dangerous consequences of this crime, which demonstrates a blatant disregard for the international community and international humanitarian law. It is a clear violation of international human rights charters, which affirm that water, food, medicine, and shelter are fundamental rights that cannot be infringed upon. Moreover, using them as a tool for cheap political blackmail at the expense of hundreds of thousands of people’s suffering is unacceptable.

➤ Continuing this blockade means the return of the specter of famine, as the production and work cycle in the Gaza Strip has halted, and its residents rely on this aid for their livelihood. The prevention of fuel entry also leads to the shutdown of hospitals and health centers and incapacitates municipalities and public facilities from providing essential humanitarian services to citizens.

➤ The closure of crossings further deteriorates the health situation by preventing the entry of medicines and medical supplies, effectively sentencing thousands of chronically ill patients and the wounded to death due to the lack of healthcare. It is also a death sentence for the already collapsed healthcare system, which has been systematically destroyed by the occupation army over the past 15 months.

➤ Preventing the entry of temporary shelter supplies means that around 1.5 million people remain homeless after their houses were destroyed, amid extremely cold weather and harsh living conditions lacking basic necessities such as water, food, and electricity.

➤ Blocking the entry of heavy equipment and machinery needed by the sector leaves more than 55 million tons of rubble in place, trapping over 10,000 martyrs beneath the ruins. It also obstructs movement due to blocked roads and poses serious health and environmental risks.

➤ We hold the occupation and its collaborators responsible for the consequences of this new crime against humanity. We welcome all international positions that have condemned this crime of starving an entire population. We call on them to translate their positions into practical actions on the ground by exerting pressure on the occupation and forcing it to comply with international humanitarian law and cease using basic needs as weapons against civilians.

➤ We call on the Arab Summit being held today to adopt serious decisions regarding what the Gaza Strip is facing and to implement their previous resolutions to break the siege and ensure the regular and unrestricted entry of Gaza’s needs.
