Palestina - Israël

A hero and a gentleman.

It's easy to think of the Palestinians only as the victims of Israeli settler colonialism, and it is certainly true that they are routinely victimised for being the indigenous non-Jewish population of a Jewish state.

But there is nothing passive about their victimisation.

Meet Sammy, a farmer from Bethlehem and the gentlest bravest man I've met in my life. His mother, brother and cousin were all killed by Israeli soldiers. Jewish settlements built on what was once the property of his relatives surround his home. Jewish settlers regularly intrude onto his land. Sammy needs medication to sleep. His wife, his daughter and Sammy himself are all seeing a psychologist to help them cope with daily threats and harassment.

But still he refuses to give up his ancestral land.

Sammy generously shared his story with me. Now I am sharing it with you. If you are moved by it, please share it with your friends.

Yesterday, my good friend and dear colleague, Dr. Hani Al-Haitham, head of Shifa emergency department, was brutally murdered by Israel, along with his beloved wife, Dr. Sameera Ghifari and their five children Shireen, Tia, Sameer, Wafa & Sara. In cold blood, coward Israeli soldiers killed seven more unarmed civilians.
Another attack on all of us, on all humankind. You will never be forgotten, we pledge: we will rebuild Shifa, Gaza, Palestine!

I just published a 76-minute interview from 2014 with the brilliant Palestinian intellectual Refaat Alareer (@itranslate123), who was recently murdered by Israel.

Among the many subject we discuss, you'll see how he sought to combat prejudice among his students and liberate their minds – precisely the opposite of the caricature Zionists cynically present on social media.

I have also included videos of him teaching, which were never published.

May he live in our hearts and minds eternally through his words and teachings.

Rest in peace, Refaat.

The Jewish Supremacist is like Mr. Glass:

Because Mr. Glass is disabled and bound to his wheelchair, he seems like he's no threat to anyone. You, as an abled-bodied person feeling sorry for him, make accommodations and even give him special rights and privleges to help him out. You do this because you have empathy, and even feel a bit guilty for what he has to go through in life.

But these emotions are precisely what he uses in order to pull off his various schemes against you. It is only later that the disabled man you felt sorry for the entire time, was an evil mastermind manipulating you into doing his bidding.

The same is true with any Jews who play the part of victims, when they're actually the ones who are the criminals.
