It’s wrong to call much of what Israel is doing “collateral damage.” Collateral damage is when you strike a building and one of your bombs goes off course and hits a nearby school, or when a kid rides by on his bike just as your bomb lands. When you see the civilians, know how many will be killed, and drop your bomb anyway to kill a suspected militant, that’s not collateral damage, it’s just damage, no different than if you sprayed gunfire into a crowd hoping to hit an enemy you thought might be in there.
