Kat Von D posted a video of herself giving her life to Jesus Christ at a baptism in a church. A year ago she announced she was throwing away any possessions she had that promoted the occult and witchcraft.
“I’ve always found beauty in the macabre, but at this point, I just had to ask myself what is my relationship with this content? And the truth is, I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if it comes disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I don’t know if any of you have been going through changes in your lives right now, but in the last few years I’ve come to some pretty meaningful realizations—many of them revolving around the fact that I got a lot of things wrong in my past.”
In 2020, Kat revealed that she was abused at the Provo Canyon School in Utah. This is the same school where Paris Hilton also fell victim to abuse and exposed her traumatic experience in a documentary. Kat said she was physically and mentally abused as a teenager there, and she left with PTSD and other traumas.
“Thank you, @parishilton for giving me the courage to share about being locked up for half a year, without ever seeing the sun, at Provo Canyon School in Utah," Kat wrote in an Instagram post. “I spent those six traumatic months of my teenage years, only to leave with major PTSD and other traumas due to the unregulated, unethical, and abusive protocols of this 'school' — and cannot believe this place is STILL OPERATING."
It’s uplifting to watch an incredible survivor like Kat go through this spiritual journey and turn her back on the occult to give her life to Jesus. I hope others, particularly those in Hollywood, are inspired by her story and follow her lead.
