BREAKING:
Druze and Israeli flags are seen everywhere as 100 Druze from Syria are welcomed during their visit to the Golan for the Nabi Shu’ayb site. The Golan remains under Israeli occupation, and what is happening now marks the beginning of Syria’s division through Israel’s exploitation of the Druze community.
The visitors, primarily elders from Druze villages on Syria’s Mount Hermon slopes, were warmly received by Israeli Druze counterparts. Their itinerary includes meetings with Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif, the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel, and visits to significant religious sites.
Additionally, Israel’s Defense Ministry announced plans to permit Syrian Druze workers to enter the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights for “employment, further strengthening cross-border ties.”

JUST IN:
Approximately 100 Druze religious leaders from Syria arrived in Israel on Friday morning for a historic 24-hour visit. This marks the first such visit in decades, during which the religious leaders will hold joint prayers with Druze in Israel.
At around 10:00 AM, the delegation crossed the border aboard three buses from southern Syria. They first visited the tomb of Sheikh Amin Tarif in the village of Julis, where they performed joint prayers with Druze religious leaders from Israel. They also visited the home of Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif, the leader of the Druze community, who is overseeing the visit.
Later in the day, the Syrian Druze delegation is expected to visit the tomb of Nabi Shu’ayb and spend the night in the area. They are scheduled to return to southern Syria on Saturday morning.
