JUST IN: Statement by Syria’s current Government lead by Ahmed Al-Sharaa:“In accordance with the requirements of the supreme national interest, and in commitment to achieving civil peace and uncovering the truth, the President of the Republic decrees the following:
First:
The formation of an independent national committee to investigate and uncover the facts surrounding the events that took place on the Syrian coast on 2025/03/06. The committee members are:
1. Judge Jomaa Al-Dubais Al-Enezi
2. Judge Khaled Adwan Al-Hilu
3. Judge Ali Al-Nasaan
4. Judge Ala Al-Din Youssef Latif
5. Judge Hanadi Abu Arab
6. Brigadier General Awad Ahmed Al-Ali
7. Lawyer Yasser Al-Farhan
Second:
The committee is tasked with the following:
1.Uncovering the reasons, circumstances, and details that led to these events.
2.Investigating violations against civilians and identifying those responsible.
3.Investigating attacks on public institutions, security, and military personnel, and identifying the perpetrators.
4.Referring those proven to be involved in crimes and violations to the judiciary.
Third:
All relevant government entities must cooperate with the committee as needed to complete its tasks.
Fourth:
The committee has the right to seek assistance from whomever it deems appropriate to perform its duties. It must submit its report to the Presidency of the Republic within a maximum of 30 days from the date of this decision.”
