Trump has decided to lift the temporary ban on the notorious 2,000 lb bombs to Israel, because in his words they were "bought and paid for". Trump is a businessman and from a business perspective you honor a deal and you don't renege on it after the fact, like Biden did.
From a humanitarian and moral perspective this is, however, a very regrettable decision. We have seen what Israel does with these bombs. They level entire apartment blocks with them or throw them on tent camps, burning people alive. At some point there will be tribunals and not just Israel will be put on trial, but also those who facilitated the #GazaGenocide.
So is there a deeper purpose to Trump's decision to supply such deadly weaponry to a genocidal state? Q wrote: not everything will be clean. As things stand now, Trump has no choice but to get his hands dirty. These bombs were ordered during Biden's presidency. It should be interesting to see whether Trump will continue to supply them and, if so, on what conditions.
In February, Netanyahu will visit the White House to discuss the situation in Gaza and in Lebanon with Trump. Trump did say he wants his legacy to be a peace president. Will he use military aid to Israel as leverage to force Bibi to stick to the deals Israel made with Hamas and Hezbollah?
Good businessmen also drive a hard bargain. Let's see what happens. As Q wrote: emotion clouds judgment. Stay frosty fens.
