Statement by the Yemeni Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Water:
"In a barbaric and savage attack, Israeli-American aggression aircraft launched 15 airstrikes at 5:30 PM today, Sunday, 26 Rabi' al-Awwal 1446 AH, corresponding to September 29, 2024, targeting both the al-Hali and Corniche stations, as well as the Ras Katnib station in al-Hudaydah governorate. These stations supply electricity to the coastal province and the rest of the republic.
The brutal airstrikes caused extensive damage to the stations and their fuel tanks, resulting in the martyrdom of several people and the injury of several employees working at the stations during the attack.
We affirm that damage control is underway, and electricity is being gradually restored to cities and governorates of the republic after a temporary total blackout caused by the Zionist enemy's targeting of the Ras Katnib, al-Hali, and Corniche stations.
The Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water, along with all related sectors, authorities, and institutions, condemns this criminal and savage assault in the strongest terms. It holds the Zionist, American, British enemies, and their mercenaries, and all those allied with them, responsible for this aggression and the resulting damage and casualties due to the targeting of vital and service facilities.
