āš”ļøLebanese Minister of Transport:

The reports reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph from sources regarding the smuggling of weapons through Rafik Hariri Airport are ridiculous.

If the Telegraph newspaper talks about Rafic Hariri Airport, it should not quote unknown sources.

Israel carried out about a thousand violations of Lebanese airspace, specifically over Rafic Hariri International Airport.

We invite all media outlets for a field tour of all facilities at Rafic Hariri Airport tomorrow morning.

The Telegraph changed its news source regarding Rafik Hariri Airport within one hour and deleted its quote from the Air Transport Association.

We will file a lawsuit against The Telegraph because the statement it issued distorts the reputation of Rafic Hariri Airport without any legal basis.

Lebanese Customs represents the Lebanese state in protecting Hariri International Airport and cannot be questioned.

Weapons are never smuggled through Rafic Hariri International Airport, and everything written in the Telegraph about that is incorrect.

Lebanon to sue The Telegraph

Lebanon has announced plans to sue the British daily newspaper, The Telegraph, over an article alleging that weapons are being stored in Beirut airport for Hezbollah.

Public Works and Transport Minister Ali Hamieh condemned the article, stating that it "seeks to tarnish the reputation of Beirut International Airport." He urged ambassadors and media outlets to visit the airport to see for themselves that the allegations made by The Telegraph are unfounded.

The Telegraph has not yet issued a response.
