Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital Dr Hussam Abu Safiya:
“The situation is extremely difficult. We are currently in a state of emergency, and the shelling continues around Kamal Adwan Hospital for the eighteenth day.
The siege on the medical staff is ongoing, and a large number of injured individuals are present in the vicinity of the hospital.
Inside the hospital, we have more than 150 patients receiving treatment, including over 15 cases of newborns and patients in intensive care.
We hope you can convey this message to the world. Our communication and internet services are cut off, and the health system is out of service.
We are providing services to the injured well below the minimum standards.
The number of martyrs today exceeds thirty-five to forty, and emergency teams cannot reach all the injured because they are directly targeted.
There are many injuries still in the emergency department, and we have no blood units, medications, or medical supplies—nor even basic medical equipment, unfortunately.
The situation is catastrophic. We have a large number of martyrs in the hospital grounds exceeding thirty-five, but the injuries are very high as well, in addition to those currently in the emergency department. We have nothing to offer them.
Even the tubes we use for chest drainage have run out; our medical tools and treatments are depleted. We’re talking about a situation that is desperate in every sense of the word.
There is a real genocide occurring against the citizens in northern Gaza. Gunfire is directed even at the ambulance crews attempting to reach the injured, and fire is also being directed at the hospital. Just a moment ago, shots were fired at the hospital entrance, and artillery shells were launched. There is direct targeting of the health organization.
Additionally, the occupation has prevented the entry of medical supplies, medications, food, and everything else.”
️Acting Director of Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza Strip, Dr. Mohammed Saleh:
The occupation forces have completely surrounded the hospital, and we cannot leave or even approach the windows.
The World Health Organization is unable to deliver fuel and supplies to us, nor coordinate the transfer of six critical cases that need to be moved to hospitals in Gaza City.
We are only eating one meal a day, which consists of half a loaf of bread or a small plate of rice.
Two days ago, the occupation forces fired artillery shells at the hospital, destroying two floors used for patient accommodation and damaging the water tanks.
This is the third siege of the hospital since the start of the aggression, and we fear that the hospital will be stormed, forcing us and the patients to leave.
