️JUST IN: Summary of the Arab-Islamic summit that took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today, with the participation of global Arab and Islamic leaders.Palestine and Lebanon were central at the summit, in the speeches of the leaders and closing statement. Hamas, PFLP, and DFLP called on the attendees to work towards breaking the siege on Gaza, establishing a Palestinian state, a ceasefire agreement, and a prisoner exchange deal: "Our people want your actions, not your words."
The draft resolution at the Riyadh Summit affirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause, emphasizing Palestinian right to freedom and a Palestinian state "along the June 4th, 1967 borders with East Al-Quds as its capital," affirming the right to return in accordance with Resolution 194. They rejected "israeli" Judaization of Al-Quds, stating that Al-Quds is a red line for Arabs and Muslims. They called for the implementation of the July 19, 2024 ICJ decisions, condemning the forced disappearance of thousands of Palestinians.
They affirmed that the Palestinian cause is like all causes of peoples struggling against occupation and affirmed "absolute support for the Lebanese republic, its security, sovereignty, and safety."
