Better Me Than Them
Well, at least some of the Pro- Israelis are targeting me with their banter, rather than the innocent little children; who find themselves trapped under the boot of the most cruel & murderous ‘wanna-be’ ethno-state called Israel.
Instead of labeling Palestinian children terrorists to justify the savage & indefensible crimes against humanity in Gaza, I prefer you label me a sympathizer because there is no switch in my mind that can turn off the innocence I see in them; regardless of their unfortunate circumstances & potential future.
Label me a terrorist supporter because I do not subscribe to the infamous mind control test:
Q: “Do you condemn Hamas?”
A: I condemn illegal occupation & ethnic cleansing. I condemn the massacre of 23,000 innocent civilians (mostly women, children & elderly) …
Q: “You don’t think Jews have the right to exist? You are a Jew hater!”
To be clear; I do not hate Jews. I don’t hate anyone or anything! I love humans, animals and nature. I value life. I value freedom for all.
Just as the persecution of Jews is unacceptable, so is the persecution of Palestinians. So instead of asking if I think Israel has the right to exist; the better question would be:
Q “Does exercising that right violate the very same right of others?”
In the case of Israel, the answer is yes. The demographic criteria for achieving a Jewish state, (voting Jewish majority), requires the expulsion of Arabs..
I do not support terrorizing a group of people to break their spirit and their will & push them past their threshold of pain to the borders of Egypt & Jordan… for the sake of achieving an artificial ethnostate. I do not condone persecuting others to escape persecution.
Pro-Israelis will have you believe that Palestinian advocacy = Hamas Supporter and they view the worldwide demonstrations in solidarity as a horrible epidemic of terrorism rather than a normal and entirely understandable & healthy opposition to genocide.
So here is my position:: Hamas was an inevitable emergence from the oppressive circumstances that have been forced upon Palestinians.
If you have a group of people being sufficiently oppressed and violently persecuted by the ruling power, with no peaceful pathway to Justice, then violence becomes inevitable.
“The love of liberty is interwoven in the soul of man and can never be totally extinguished. There are certain periods when human patience can no longer endure indignity and oppression. The space of Liberty then kindles into a flame. “
~Samuel Adams
If Hamas is eliminated and Palestinians remain under occupation, there will be another Palestinian group organizing its liberation which will likely result in violence against the state of Israel… when no peaceful pathway is present.
So instead of saying Hamas must be eradicated; why not eliminate the conditions which make a Hamas inevitable? Eliminate the need for resistance.
The call for ending military occupation, isn’t a dismissal of security concerns for Palestinian or Israeli people but an end to the tyrannical Israeli government & military occupation. Future: TBD but a free, equal and peaceful path forward. Whatever that looks like.
For those who decided to cancel me because of my views… that’s okay….
