JUST IN: Israel has carried out large-scale airstrikes in Syria today
Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple sites across Syria, according to Syrian state media. In Damascus, the Scientific Research Center in Barzeh was hit. In Hama, strikes severely damaged the military airbase, destroying warplanes, aircraft shelters, the runway, and ammunition depots.
In Homs, at least two strikes hit the T4 Airbase, which Turkey is reportedly considering for drone and air defense deployment. An Israeli official told The Jerusalem Post the strikes were a clear warning to Ankara: “Do not establish a military base in Syria and do not interfere with Israeli activity in the country’s skies.”
The Israeli occupation army is currently shelling the outskirts of Nawa in the western Daraa countryside at a more intense rate.
