BREAKING: America Just Criminalized Dissent
In a chilling echo of McCarthy-era repression, a Louisiana judge has approved the deportation of Columbia grad student Mahmoud Khalil under a 1952 Cold War law, branding his peaceful pro-Palestinian activism a “threat to U.S. foreign policy.”
Khalil, detained since March, has until April 23 to appeal. Meanwhile, a New Jersey court has temporarily blocked the deportation, exposing a legal tug-of-war over the legitimacy of silencing protest through archaic law.
This is not justice. This is political persecution. Proof that in today’s America, standing for Palestine can cost you your freedom.
