In the end it really was technology like 3D ultrasounds and heartbeat mp3s that swung the abortion debate onto the right side of history. You can't talk your way out of that stuff. We still have the recordings of both our kids' heartbeats the first time we heard them.

Dat is de zogeheten 'heartbeat law'. Vanaf zes weken begint het hart te kloppen, dus daar trekken ze de grens. Wat mij betreft is er al sprake van heilig en onschendbaar leven vanaf de verwekking, dus ik ben voor een totaalverbod. Ook in het geval van verkrachting, want dan geef je het kind maar op voor adoptie als je het niet wil houden.

Maar dan loop je wel ongewild 9maanden rond met eventueel alle bekommernissen van dienst en eventueel ook de risicos. Je wordt verkracht en moet daar dan zelf de gevolgen van dragen ? Morning after dan ?
 
Je draagt je kind en wordt gedurendende je zwangerschap liefdevol.opgevangen door familie en vrienden. Een christelijke organisatie wordt er evt. bij betrokken voor het adoptieproces en ook zij begeleiden de aanstaande moeder in de overdracht en het daarmee gepaard gaande afscheid. Het vereist dus een andere, meer zorgzame en solidaire samenleving die je niet het gevoel geeft er alleen voor te staan. In Amerika bestaat het echter al, dus het kan wel degelijk.
