A Little Science Fiction Mixed With A Very Real Threat...
Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D.) was always the key principle that prevented a nuclear exchange. However it is theoretically possible that nuclear powered underground refuges have been constructed with everything you would ever want or need to survive an exchange and come out on top of the world with the means to rebuild it precisely how you desire and without any opposition left to speak of.
I call this the "Moonraker Scenario," and it could include nuclear exchanges, genetically engineered "final solutions," or a cataclysmic weather modification disaster involving the utter freezing of the planet, the destruction of all agriculture, and the death of billions. Or it could involve a slow, incremental combination of all of these or more...

CNN had recently published an article describing the US' admission of plans to build a secret nuclear powered outpost on the moon, of all places. What if they did do so secretly, or built similar "arks" here on Earth?

I have told people that fighting the corporate-financier and industrial elite head-on is futile. We must undermine them at their very source - our daily paying into their various rackets and monopolies, replacing them entirely, and taking ownership over our destiny by controlling manufacturing, agriculture, and R&D on a local level and globally through networked collaboration.
Technology - be it synthetic biology (the ability to read and write DNA like computer code) - or advanced automated manufacturing like 3D printing or CNC machining - or robotics - will give whomever monopolizes such technologies the ability to do more and more with fewer and fewer people involved. We can either allow the elite to defer to the megalomaniac's ultimate dream, the "Moonraker Scenario," or we can empower our local communities with such technology.
The choice is ours. Be distracted by politics perpetually and leave ourselves open to such a possibility, or solve a multitude of problems by localizing and undermining these monopolies, and mitigating this potential risk, however probably you think it may be.
Geopolitical analysis includes speculating and theorizing - and the above is just that. How probable do you think the "Moonraker scenario" is? Share your thoughts in the comment section below...
