If I came to your house, and said:
“This is my house now, I will live here,”
And then I said:
“2 of you can stay in the house with me but I'm still in charge,
2 of you go live in the garden shed,
And the other 4 of you have to leave,”
And then after a couple of years I said:
"Hmm, I want that shed too, you guys will have to leave,"
But you don't want to,
So I build small settlements around and inside the shed,
Those people occupying the settlements get to enjoy much more rights and freedoms than you,
They are allowed to oppress you and you can't complain or else you'll be imprisoned and more of your shed will be taken away,
And then eventually I make it clear that I will use force to remove you,
Would you find that acceptable?
Because that's the story of how Israel came to be
(minus all the killing, destruction, blackmailing of foreign leaders and bribing of foreign governments of course)
