Scientists have identified cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, bok choy and Brussels sprouts contain high levels of phytoestrogens. These important vegetables work by competitively occupying the estrogen receptor sites on the cell membrane to prevent estrogen from exerting its effects on the cell. While phytoestrogen is weaker than estrogen, it nevertheless is estrogenic in nature. If you are working on estrogen reduction, these foods should be eaten in moderation at best.
Some studies suggest that frequent red meat and ham consumption is associated with endometriosis risk, while fruit and vegetable intake appears to be protective. In an Italian population, women who ate at least seven servings of red meat per week had twice the risk of endometriosis compared with those who ate fewer than three servings of red meat weekly. Women having 14 or more servings per week of green vegetables had a 70 percent lower risk of endometriosis compared with those ate fewer than six servings per week. And those eating 14 or more servings of fruit per week had a 20 percent lower risk compared with women having fewer than six servings per week. (Parazzini F, Chiaffarino F, Surace M, et al. Foods to avoid in endometriosis
1. Red Meat– Research shows that the consumption of red meat can increase the risk of endometriosis by more than 80% (1,2). This is because red meat contains fats that promote inflammation, and inflammation is one of the driving and maintaining factors of endometriosis. Particularly ham is bad in endometriosis because it contains the food additive sodium nitrate which is highly toxic and can interfere with functioning of your reproductive system by causing DNA damage. (1) Good alternatives for red meat include deep sea fish, lean white meat such as turkey, or pulses (vegetable source of protein).

Van Weston Price en endometriose helaas weinig of niets gevonden, behalve een interessant stuk over het belang van vitamine A (boter, lever en eieren).

Ook geen noemenswaardige ervaringsverhalen gevonden van endometriose patiënten met Weston Price.
Een heleboel zaken zijn me overigens wel duidelijk: bv mbt het schrappen van suikers en zoetstoffen, e-nummers en alles wat met toxines te maken heeft, transvetten, gluten, bewerkt voedsel, cafeïne en alcohol.
